Sarah E Anderson, LPC
There are many ways to encourage a blossom to spring from a rocky place. I aim to know how YOU want to change so I can assist in your decision-making abilities. I'm a firm believer that good therapy takes time and repetition, like cultivating any strong life-habit.

Together is how we heal but family, culture, and society keep on hurting us or letting us down, the paradox can be mind boggling! We're often taught to blame ourselves. Therapy can provide precious time in a safe and non-biased space. My approach to helping you become the expert of your own healing is warm, humorous, and directive. I specialize in CPTSD, PMDD, self-expression, and self-love. My therapeutic approach is tailored for you. I enjoy using the following: Psychodynamic, Person-centered, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Body/Dance/Movement, and Art-Therapy.

I'm inspired to work on Creativity Block, Self-Worth, Intergenerational Trauma, Mother/Daughter, PMDD, Self-Esteem, Anxiety, and Depression.
Embarking on the therapeutic journey can be hard so I love to create space to slow down and encourage ease while showing compassion. If you think we might be a good fit, let’s talk. I look forward to hearing from you!
My Story
Counseling as a profession came to me after a life lived in the entertainment and performing arts industry. Sometimes I joke about "my past-life" but the truth is my prior experiences guide and inform me constantly. The idea of Behind the Scenes Psychotherapy is my way of integrating my past with my now! Although I specialize in working with artists, performers, and entertainment industry people, I love working with everyone!I have a rich and diverse lived experience that has prepared me well to meet you where you are; I've yet to meet a client I haven't had at least one thing in common with! My mental health journey has been HARD, it took my youth, twenties, thirties, and early forties to cultivate the resources and tools that work for me. My story continues to write itself, full of suprises, challenges, and existential longings.
